2024 was another challenging year for the Mobile Game Industry in general, but we’re happy that Mobile Game Doctor saw some growth and had the opportunity to work on a number of interesting projects. We continued to have great ongoing relationships with all of our long-term 2023 customers, welcomed a number of new partners to the hold, and had some opportunities to renew relationships with old friends.
Over the course of the year, we had the opportunity to serve as the marketing team for several small to medium sized mobile game developers, give critical guidance to a number of teams on system design and monetization, and help fledgling startups develop their product management practices from scratch. We’re proud of what we’ve helped our partners accomplish and the quality of the services we’ve delivered.
As we look ahead to 2025, we see both meaningful challenges and exciting opportunities ahead. Overall, the mobile landscape remains tricky to navigate for everyone except for the largest and most entrenched incumbents. User acquisition is more challenging than ever, games need to execute at the highest level to succeed at scale, and new investment in the sector has slowed down significantly. In an environment like this, we believe it’s important that all players - especially smaller and newer companies - have access to expert assistance that can help them navigate this tough landscape.
On the other hand, we see a number of interesting new opportunities both inside and outside of the mobile space. Although many of the most successful games have been in the market for years, there’s a constant emergence of novel approaches to gameplay, monetization, and social features that lead to surprising successes for new and independent developers. We are working with developers to find new and interesting alternatives to traditional performance marketing practices. And we interesting opportunities in areas beyond mobile, including emerging platforms like HTML web games on the web, new entrants like Discord, and even developers looking to learn the ins and outs of games-as-a-service for their PC titles.
We also want to explore new ways of working with developers, expanding our typical fee-for-service consultancy by adding some partially success-based projects to the mix. And we are also in conversation with some partners about creating some educational materials that we hope games-as-a-service developers from all over the world will find useful (and hopefully even a little bit entertaining).
But first and foremost, Mobile Game Doctor is here to serve you, our partners in the exciting but challenging world of building games-as-a-service. We want to provide you with the best expert advice, assistance, and direct delivery possible with your most challenging problems in game design, monetization, product management, and growth marketing. We would love to help you and your team in 2025. Just reach out and let us know how!
